Call for Abstracts: TSOP 2025
The 41st Annual Meeting of The Society for Organic Petrology
Theme: “Critical Minerals and Unconventional Hydrocarbon Resources in Future Energy”

Join global experts in fundamental and applied aspects of the geology, petrology, geochemistry and mineralogy of coal, oil/gas source rocks, and organic matter-rich shales at TSOP 2025, where we will explore the evolving role of critical minerals and unconventional hydrocarbons in shaping sustainable energy futures. This interdisciplinary conference will address pressing challenges and innovations in resource assessment, climate-aligned technologies, and energy security.

The conference will be held from 7th – 14th September 2025 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in cooperation with Unconventional Georesources Research Group (UGRG), Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Various topics on critical raw minerals, unconventional hydrocarbon, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) and related disciplines will be presented and discussed in the Technical Sessions.

This event will feature workshops in structured and expert-led sessions for academics and professionals, and people interested in exploring topics, such as Introduction to Organic Petrology, Critical Minerals, and Unconventional Hydrocarbon Resources.
